About us

This is a group for women who are ‘black’ in the political sense.
I.e: women who self- identify, originate or have ancestry from global majority populations (i.e. Africa, Asia, Middle East and Latin America) multi heritage and indigenous backgrounds.

We raise consciousness through debate, discussion and critical analysis online and at meetings. We address the multiple inequalities and oppressions, challenging constructs of race, sex and gender in particular those subjugating black women and girls.
We reject and challenge misogyny, violence, aggression, sexual exploitation, racism, sexism, ablism, homophobia, white supremacy, patriarchy and oppressive ideologies.

We celebrate diversity, difference and cultures. We promote solidarity with all women and liberation for all humanity.

Views expressed by individuals represent those of the individual and not Black Feminists Manchester as a whole.

This is an independent group and is not formally affiliated to any other organisations.
